Summary

Caret is a new AI meeting notetaker designed to deliver highly accurate transcriptions, especially for names and numbers, and provide context-aware summaries, addressing shortcomings in existing tools like Otter and Fireflies. It offers real-time transcription and translation, customizable summaries, and cross-platform support, aiming to improve accessibility and user experience. This highlights ongoing advancements in AI-driven productivity tools, with a focus on accuracy, usability, and inclusivity.

Hey HN, I’m Chanhee. I built Caret, the world-most accurate AI meeting notetaker. I know you already used lots of notetakers and so do I. I tried Otter, Fireflies, Circleback, Granola, Bluedot, tl;dv, and more, but could not find one that satisfies me. Names and numbers were wrongly transcribed. Summaries don’t give what I really want. So, I decided to build something for myself(and hopefully for you). It actually works: - correctly transcribes names and numbers - understand the context and speakers (ex. designer and dev fighting for button position in a cafe) - not a bot: works with every platform like Granola. And added a features I really wanted: - realtime transcript and translation. I have some hearing disabilities, so I often miss some words) - cursor-like summary editing experience (+ templates) - runs everywhere: mac, windows, iphone (but no linux…) - translucent and gorgeous UI (inspired by the macOS ChatGPT app) You can try it here: https://caret.so . Of course, I’d love to h
